Welcome to haolaoshi, Chinese pronunciation for good teacher, Harriet’s online space as a resource bank of English teaching and learning. It works with Web 2.0 technologies to construct learning opportunities for high school students to improve their reading, listening and writing abilities. What’s more, it also provides English teachers teaching materials. All work is based on principles of collaboration, student-centered design, and learning management strategies as manifestations of applied constructivist and connectivist learning theories for developing higher order thinking skills (per Bloom's revised taxonomy). The goals of this project include development of abilities to: 1. Upload, edit and comment all teaching and learning materials freely. 2. Share useful resource with peers, students and even strangers who have the same needs and interests. 3. Improve reading comprehension, listening and writing abilities. 4. Encourage critical thinking and autonomous learning. 5. Encourage collaboration, cooperation, and creativity.
